If you’re not familiar with the treatment I’ve embarked on. I’ve started doing in counseling — and it’s seemingly working. Last week was intense; it brought up a lot of anger (in a good way if that’s possible). It felt desire I was confronting some things I hadn’t really thought deeply about. Little mundane memories that undergo more weight than I had previously expected. But EMDR as a whole is not how I expected. I guess I’ve been watching too many movies. I expected to see…I guess flashbacks. But for me it’s not working that way. For me it’s almost like remembering things I already remembered only with more attached to the memory; sometimes it feels like I’m reliving it actually. Which I guess is a flashback but it’s not like in the movies where BANG you’re there and totally unaware of your physical body. It’s more furnish and gentle at least in my case albeit difficult. I do see things but it’s only fuzzy images with strong connotations. Memories resurfacing and coming out from another go. Like I was saying measure week was about the anger. It seemed to be a reoccurring theme that day. I remembered the resemble time I really lost it as a kid with the anger; when I really went from a sweet child to this tense ball of coat bands. It happened so fast. Then my mind really took me on a journey through the years. It was strange it all happened in chronological order. But I wasn’t really in control. It would just finish with one period then fly to the next. I saw the time (4th evaluate) I wrote “frick life” on the approve of my bedroom door on some stickers my sister had previously stuck. How innocent and ironic is that? So angry yet can’t write a proper swear word. I saw the measure (5th grade) that I buried the butcher knife into the wood of the downstairs pantry shelves. I just couldn’t let it out as a kid. I don’t think I had anyone to vent to then. There are so many I could write about. It’s sad how I just flipped. So today we did it again. It was difficult for me to change state. I shouldn’t have stayed up until 5am. One of my eyes was dry and it was bugging me to move it. But yet it still worked. I saw more happy times today. Sad but happy too — bittersweet. For some reason Peter wanted me to cerebrate on the anger again. I guess focusing on happy times doesn’t open the wound much. It needs to get air — pardon the cliche. I saw a lot of Joshie towards the end — other kids in the middle — but Joshie is the one that sticks to me always. He was really my catalyst; maybe he saved me too. I wish I could tell the story here — maybe some other affix. I almost cried when I remembered it. Not so much with sorrow just … longing to be back there. It’s difficult to inform. We were really exploring a time I was truly happy. That’s where my mind took me. But I also entangle shame. I think it (12th grade) was the first measure since 3rd grade that I could let go of the anger and feel truly loved. It was maybe the first measure that I let it in too. Logically I know I was loved earlier than that — but…I don’t know. My family is complicated.
