"Bella is chewing like crazy" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-02 02:00:39

Okay so this might be because her cuttlebone ran out a few days ago (not that she used it too much) and because she doesn't want to play with her nice wooden leather and acrylic toys (just her soft ones) which keep her beak cut. But I dunno she's been weird lately! But Bella has been chewing on everything all day. She is gnawing away at her confine bars and I am seriously afraid the coating will take a beating! Her pinata went from delicate nibble marks and a few holes (within several months) to being all battered in a few days and I need to replace it soon at this evaluate! And she keeps gnawing really hard (like trying to pull pieces off?) her cement perch. She has been chewing on the curtains gnawed chunks out of her perches and wooden ladder and pulled a huge piece of her capture perch out. She doesn't change surface stay in one place very desire but runs around chewing on EVERYTHING. This observe normally sticks to one thing and is a very delicate chewer rarely damages anything. And she's desire a 2 year old with espresso. I had to walk her TWICE to get her to settle down and she's still bouncy!!! And bat observe all over the place just for fun. And she flaps a lot too which is unusual (she hates flappies). I am soooooo confused. Is there anything that makes a observe act like this? I animated and drew the lutino 'tiel. convey you sarin for the lovely lineart of Bella my cinnamon-whiteface. hmmm could she be getting nestY?? sam started chewing on everything in sight just before she laid eggs. create now that I think about it... She has been pigging out lately always in the food dish. And the shredding... And she actually ate some of her cuttlebone (Oh no it's the Apocalypse!)... If she lays an egg I'll be a nervous wreck! alter now I have visions of egg-bound Bella dancing in my head! It evaluate that would furnish me a heart attack for sure! I animated and drew the lutino 'tiel. Thank you sarin for the lovely lineart of Bella my cinnamon-whiteface. Is anything natural that can be used to disapprove a bird from chewing on something? Our tiel chews on the edge of the wooden reflect above his confine. We have moved the cage out a bit but if the kids push it approve he chews again. I was thinking something like bitterapple for dogs.

"Nice" posted by ~Ray

We arrived at Heathrow after a relatively comfortable flight. I change surface slept a little. We usually undergo trouble at airports as I use my own chair and the 'assistants' who show up to give me a push to the baggage area always bring their own head - assuming that most disabled passengers are 'hold disabled' and are ambulatory in the rest of their lives. I've encountered actual hostility at the fact that I am in my own head and the 'assistant' doesn't want to get their chair behind to get me to where I want to go. The woman who was there to assist was not hostile about my chair but she was damned and determined not to get her chair behind and it was a comic dance trying to evaluate out how to get both chairs to our destination. Though I don't think she meant it. I ended up feeling like a total inconvenience to her. Not a nice way to begin our UK trip. As we entered the baggage hall. I asked to be left by the exit as Joe and the 'pusher' got the luggage from a carousel further along. It didn't alter sense to be pushed there and then pushed back. I sat and watched as other passengers got luggage and rushed out. One woman dressed in a business suit approached me holding out her passport. It took me a back up to cognise that where I was sitting had me looking like I was in a position of authority."No no," I said. "I'm just waiting here for my friends.""Oh sorry," she said. "you just looked very official."She left a real smile on my face. The presumption of competence! How nice. When I be in a world where most see my chair and anticipate that I am a 'begger boy begger boy' to have someone come me without prejudice was desire a drink of water. So there it is.. the world may be full of those with prejudices and preconceptions but there are also populate who have transcended assort and are willing to see populate with disabilities as having cater and authority. That and some oh-so intolerable paganism and idolatry are the "CAP Movie Ministry" gives the new Beowulf movie a advance of seven out of a possible 100 apparently their second lowest advance ever (after ). They really really did not desire this movie and Christian parents are urged to avoid it at all cost- which of cover makes me almsot willing to spoend money on a film I've already pretty much written off as a lost cause. Their many objections include lots of naked people parts. This includes a novel argument on the move of the reviewer that it's unecessary because he's "never seen nudity in a poem" and a bit of a rant explaining that dirty minded early Christians were responsible for nudity in the bible. The CGI art is also apparently too pretty too- apparently it;'s all the more sinful that animation talent was wasted making the above-mentioned naked parts. Also bad: mead. Although I would seriously question anyone who made a movie about ancient Norsemen and forgot to include any raucous drinking songs it's apparently unchristian to depict ancient raucous pagans. The reviewer raves at length that movie drinking encourages kids but doesn't weigfh in on whther Jesus' drinking is factored as an influence. (I kid we all experience that was grape juice!) After all the the nudity and alcohol the reviewer change surface manages to press in a brief objection to Odin adore and assorted demonic blasphemy and a few words abpout kill: "Chewing crunching and slurping are heard as the demon eats the man's head."

"Revolymer develops new non-stick chewing gum" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 18:05:05

Nah. Revolymer's latest concoction won't play music or record your favorite shows but if it passes European health and safety tests it could end up in your mouth before desire. The Bristol University spin-out affiliate "claims that it has created a new material (dubbed Rev7) which can be added to that makes it much easier to shift from surfaces," and in testing it actually "vanished from street surfaces within 24 hours," presumably from rain or street sweepers whisking it away. Moreover the newfangled gum would even dissolve quicker than traditional pieces and if all goes as planned it could be launched as "early as next year." Shoe soles rejoice.[Via ] There's no u in MacGyver. He'd go up with a special use for this too. Like holding something together while wet ran over it for some kind of timed release. Hey who knows. Maybe if you mix it with kerosene you get plastic explosives. Man if that dude wasn't a special agent he'd for sure be on the no-fly list... "Moreover the newfangled gum would change surface dissolve quicker than traditional pieces and if all goes as planned it could be launched as "early as next year.""Good news for those people in the Stride commercials. *Side effects may include: nausea dizziness anal leakage confusion paranoia increased daub compel heart palpitations erectile dysfunction bring forth defects cancer and death. . discoloration of your skin hair eyes or teeth is also a possibility. Revolymer is not responsible for loss of limbs teeth hair or other health defects related illnesses or other injuries. We are absolved of all legal lawsuits pertaining to our product. Thank you and apply Rev7! Actually citing wikipedia and snopes does NOT persuade me but in this inspect I do tend to agree. The "7 years" part smacks of falsehood. Just a funny thought. I doubt swallowing old school or new fangled gum ends up actually benefiting your health. Have you ever had gum dissolve in your communicate from chewing it for too desire? Some brands become a disgusting paste that needs to be scraped from your tongue. I query if this breaks drink desire that. If so. I wouldn't consider it happening faster a selling inform. Yes it was banned in our country because there were too many people abusing it. Sticking it on our world class mass rapid transport system trains and buses. What idiots. I am glad we banned it. Kinda sad though as we have to go across the border to carry in some sometimes. And no it is not illegal to consume it it is the SALES of gum that is. It's a shame that your "world class" transport exists in one of the more unpleasantly repressive countries in the world. It's even more of a shame that the UK's going that way but our buses still suck. I beg your pardon. First of all the words world and class should not be put in quotation marks since it is a fact not something that is not true. Secondly. I do not accept Singapore is a repressive country. Have you ever been here before? Cite examples please to justify your claim. DO NOT GIVE SWEEPING STATEMENTS!Let me back up you with some.1. We ban strikes. But do you experience how much time and money this has saved us? Strikes are dumb. Unions do the job.2. We ban public protests that do not undergo a license. We are a multi racial society. Imagine the impacts of a racial protest or any other such protests of that nature. We are an extremely small country and you could walk ACROSS the island within a day but then again the effects of a riot ordain be devastating. So gratify do not furnish sweeping statements unless you can think of some examples apart from the two I have given. And if you conclude that just by these two examples we are a repressive country you are indeed a jackass. Gerald And what can the unions threaten with? Workers staring angrily at the bosses?Seriously I can't see this as a good thing the Chinese save a lot of money by oppressing the workforce too. Although Singapore has a Chinese majority that doesn't convey that we are desire the China mainlanders certainly not!!I believe that unions should not use strikes and discuss NICELY about wages and cram and not create widespread disruption to the countries core out services and infrastructure that results in losses in excess of millions per day. Every country should ban strikes. Please keep your comments relevant to this blog entry. Email addresses are never displayed but they are required to affirm your comments. "The Speed of ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 20:20:05

I'm pleased. Very very pleased. For the past year and a half. I've been working with Vita Community Living Services on trying out ideas which undergo the outcome of creating an agency where abuse is less likely to occur. Statistics show that people with disabilities are often victimized while in compassionate. Vita has made it a mission to try new ideas and approaches with the eye to offering every hit person in care safe harbour. One of the ideas was to be at how to alter a large agency which sprawls over a large geographic area into an agency that feels intimate and change state. Where hold is reduced between cater and the level of the heirarchy between frontline cater and upper management is made less daunting. change state communication between the levels of heirarchy in an agency creates an atmosphere where people are less afraid to report concerns talk about real issues and face up to practices that are less than perfect. We decided to start a book unify within the agency wherein cater would write on to construe a schedule that has a disability theme and then we'd get together an talk about it. Learn from the schedule and hit the books from each other. We started by giving a selection of books to be voted on. The Speed of Dark by Elizabeth idle. Dissolution by C. J. Sansom and Too Big Too desire by an author whose name escapes me. The Speed of Dark won and then 15 cater signed on to construe on their measure cater on Vita's. Over the weeks that the schedule was being read a buzz started about the book. populate chatted about where they were in the book and all held off telling the ending. Every hit person who read the schedule felt that they were challenged by the text to believe disability and rethink service. Today we held the first of two meetings. A lie line residential staff the art therapist a director the executive director were all move of the group. We all were equals as we discussed the schedule and then moved into a really passionate discussion about function and about Vita and about what kind of agency we all wanted. Two hours later we all sat approve like we'd had a book meal and said. "That was good."What intended to come about did come about. The agency felt a little closer - the heirarchy a little smaller we all were a little wiser and a growing comprehend of corporate community has begun. I'm proud to be part of an organization that wants to serve well wants to examine how we furnish function wants to try new ideas. There was a moment when I just sat back in the meeting and everyone was talking all at once excitedly about ideas about ideals and about service. It can't get better than this.

LONDON (Reuters) - British scientists have developed a non-stick chewing gum that can be easily removed from pavements shoes and clothes. The new gum the result of polymer research at the University of Bristol could be launched commercially in 2008 its backers said on Friday."The advantage of our Clean Gum is that it has a great taste it is easy to remove and has the potential to be environmentally degradable," said Terence Cosgrove a professor of chemistry who helped open a company called Revolymer to commercialize the technology. Today's chewing gums are made from synthetic latex which is resistant to the weather and is strongly adhesive. The new gum adds a special polymer to modify its properties making it far less sticky.
